Man is a spirit. He has a soul. And that is what I want to do. Recapture my soul. I want to live. I want to live in the fields, ride over hills, climbtrees, swim river. I want to feel the firm grass of the earth beneath my feet. Without shoes. Without possesions without those shadows we call our servant. I want to be a beggar. Yes a beggar. Christ was a beggar And his holy apostles were beggars. I want to be as free as they are. What is born of the flesh is flesh. What is born of the spirit is spirit. I now am born again. Francisco of Asis.

Consider the following words of the Reverend Martin Niemoller, a Protestant clergyman in Germany, who experienced firsthand what happens when those who should speak up for freedom refuse to do so: When the Nazi’s came for the Communist, I didn’t speak up, because I was not a Communist. Then they came for the Jews, and I didn’t speak up, because I was not a Jew. Then they came for the trade unionist, and I didn’t speak up, because I wasn’t a trade unionist. Then they came for the Catholics, and I was a Protestant, so I didn’t speak up. Then they came for me…. And by that time, there was no one left to speak up for anyone."
